I am standing here today because of a simple but powerful truth: our public schools are the foundation of our community. For me, this journey is deeply personal. I am running to give back to the public schools that shaped me and honed my own love of learning. The education I received opened doors for me, sparked my curiosity, and instilled a lifelong passion for discovery. Now, I want to ensure that we continue to foster that same love of learning for every student in our community today. This is my motivation for putting my name on the ballot. I want to dedicate my time and energy to supporting the very schools that gave me so much, ensuring they remain strong, vibrant, and welcoming places where future generations can thrive.
Every student in Monterey County deserves an education that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and opens doors. I will fight for well-rounded programs, strong arts and academics, and the resources and support that help every child thrive, not just get by.
Students cannot learn and teachers cannot teach in an environment where they do not feel safe. I will prioritize creating school campuses that are secure, welcoming, and free from threats, so that every student can focus on what matters: growing and learning.
Our schools can only be as strong as the financial decisions behind them. I will bring transparency and accountability to how our school district spends public dollars, ensuring every budget decision puts students first and earns the trust of our community.
